1- Construction And Maintenance Of 170 Farms At Khalifa City 'A' Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates

The Consultant has been appointed to design the farming infrastructure as well as the design of related facilities namely of 170 No. Palm Farms each approximately 2 Hectares in Area excluding Farms and Roads.

The Project comprised:

- Construction of Two Underground Water Reservoirs of 1,000,000 gallons each with a Pump Station for each Reservoir.

- Construction of a Water System Network for the Irrigation of the farms including the Pumping Station, Water Lines, Drip System and all required valves & controls in order to supply the proper quantities of water to each farm /tree.

- Planting of 4 rows of Date Palm and Ghaff Trees inside each farm.

- Irrigation system for the above-mentioned Trees.

- Installation of Water Flow Meters in order to control the quantity of water provided for each farm.

- Provide the Electrical Supply to the Pumping Station, Flow Meter and other Control Units.

- Coordinate with ADWEA for the Supply of the Water and Electricity.

- Construction of fences and provision of gates for the farms and the reservoir-pump area.

The Project is located near to Abu Dhabi New Airport. The approximate site area is 4,000,000 Sq.m.

2- Design and Supervision of Small and Medium Irrigation Schemes in North Lebanon and Bekaa

Final design, tender documents and supervision of construction for eleven Schemes in Bekaa and North Lebanon. The Schemes covered an area of 9800 hectares. The work consisted of: design of 300km of new irrigation pipelines, rehabilitation of 100kms of irrigation canals and design of 120 km of irrigation canals.

3- Feasibility Studies for the Rehabilitation and Modernization of Small and Medium Irrigation Schemes in Lebanon.

The studies included socio-economic aspects, soil and land classification, land suitability, water resources, agronomy, irrigation rehabilitation design and financial and economic aspects. Twenty eight schemes were studied covering an area of 18750 hectares and covering the whole of Lebanon. A ranking on socio-economic parameters as well as one on economic and financial parameters was prepared to determine a list of priorities for implementation. 13 of these schemes are being designed and we are supervising the construction of these schemes.

4- Mushrif Reservoir Complex, United Arab Emirates

The structural design and supervision of construction of a reservoir which is rectangular in shape and dimensions 336.0 x 167.60 x 506 meters, designed to carry safely a usable volume of water of about 60 million Imp. Gallons. The roof and bottom slabs were designed as flat slabs. The reservoir was designed to safely resist the actions due to static as well as dynamic loads produced by liquid and soil pressures, superimposed loads and any eventual seismic loads.

5- Rehabilitation and Upgrading of King Abdullah Canal, Jordan

Preliminary and final designs and preparation of tender documents for a 110 km long irrigation canal. Detailed field surveys were carried out to prepare layout drawings and data collected to determine areas needing rehabilitation and upgrading. A hydraulic model for the canal was carried out to determine the capacity for different flows and to determine areas requiring heighting of the sides to increase capacity. Also, refurbishment measures were taken for all mechanical works.

6- Zarqa River Basin Project - (Soil Conservation), Jordan

The Water Catchment and Soil Conservation Project involved an area of nearly 1 million dunums and a population of 140,000 people. The operation depended on implementation of a "Safe Land Use Framework" which incorporates soil conservation, irrigation productive farming methodology and watershed management within the bounds of the land capability. The project will lead to the development of a comprehensive system for the maintenance of sustainable and viable agriculture throughout the rainfall highland region of Jordan. The Project involves land use planning, soil and topographical surveying irrigation and civil engineering works.

Farm planning, design and supervision of contractors for implementing the soil contractors for implementing the soil conservation measures to irrigate and introduce safe land use on private land in the Lower Zarqa River Catchment Area. The main tasks of the Consultant is to carry out detailed soil surveys, prepare land capability classification and present land use, develop the irrigation and future land use plan and identify the relevant soil conservation structural measures to be installed.
